USAT AGM 2018 is a Wrap

USAT hosted its 2018 Annual General Meeting of members on October 10 at the Chula Vista Elite Athlete Training Center, site of the USAT Nationals 2018 tournament. Fourteen of the fifteen affiliate clubs attended and discussed business of the past year and the future of touch in the USA.

Notable items covered were:

  • USAT is trying to dramatically increase communication to players and leaders; please join the newsletter (on the right) and check this site for updates!
  • USAT is seeking help in a number of areas; if you’re interested in helping the organization, please read more here!
  • The executive committee was re-elected, unopposed (OJ Hawea as president, Jay Alston as treasurer, and Jean Miller as secretary), and Chad Hansen was introduced as new director operations. All are reachable as <first-name>
  • USAT released a financial summary, reporting net operating losses, covered by contributions from the staff. Info about this report is available here.
  • A vote was taken to extend executive committee terms, which was not passed.
  • Open discussions covered topics like stay-to-play policy at nationals and creating a larger elected board to operate the organization.
  • The 2015-2019 strategic plan was reviewed and reported as largely successful. USAT looks forward to creating the 2019-2023 strategic plan with member club input.
